The University of St.Gallen has always been characterized by a culture of close interaction between faculty, students and administration, based on mutual respect, flat hierarchies and direct communication channels, that enable personal encounters and uncomplicated structures. In particular, the HSG's institutes enjoy a high degree of autonomy. However, as a public institution, we carry a special responsibility for dealing with the scope of freedom of research and teaching and the politics of integrity that is supported by the entire university. In this respect, Professors in particular have a special leadership and management obligation.
This is why we offer an introduction to the HSG professorship (Onboarding Programme) for newly appointed full and associate professors. The program takes place in four modules on two afternoons in the fall semester and is open to all full and associate professors at the HSG.
